  • Open to any player, male or female that has played in our North West formats, from Smithton to Scottsdale.

  • Over 4,000 players have played with us since 1987.

  • A lot of past players have been disconnected from their clubs & we are starting this group to create a space to encourage past players to be a part of, hoping that being surrounded by more peers from their playing days will help them get back to their clubs to bridge the gap from the old generation to the new generation.

  • The story telling & camaraderie from older generations is invaluable. Younger players will never experience the same era, both on and off the field. Football was played different & the culture was raw, unfiltered & rich with tradition.

  • North West players, past and present are a massive part of the DNA of Tassie footy.

  • A past players association provides a foundation for kickstarting the North West regions football revival, ensuring that past players remain engaged, their legacy is honoured and the footballing spirit remains for generations to come.

  • There is no more exciting time ever for Tassie than right now, we have an AFL team coming, what we all have dreamt and wished for.

  • With this group we hope to start building the hype now around what’s coming with new Tassie Devils and associated programs instead of waiting for our team to get here.

NWPPA Structure

  • The association is a loyalty-based membership. $100 for a local player and $50 for an interstate player.

  • Rapid Supply have jumped on board as our inaugural naming rights sponsor with a massive sponsorship to allow us to be fair dinkum about getting this off the ground.

  • Why monetise it? Outside of giving something back to the league that created so many memories for us to help the league prosper in the new premier league era. Monetising it makes it a fair dinkum association and allows us to hold fair dinkum events.

  • Players will get a new gift each year, first year will be NWPPA badge/pin.

  • Free entry into your home club of choice (interesting for those blokes that played at 4 clubs haha).

  • A loyalty card gaining access to discounts at partnering businesses. Sportspower Burnie, The Lucas Hotel & The Forth Pub to name a few. Any other organisations that want to be a partnering business are encouraged to reach out to us at morgan@nwfl.com.au.

  • Free beer and food during the game to support our rep teams on 7th June against the SFL at Dial Park.

  • Free 18 hole golf day during summer to promote our game in the off season and engage the past players with current players.

  • We have our new bomber jackets as pictured which will be exclusive to purchase for members of the NWPPA.

As mentioned, Rapid Supply have very generously jumped on board. Owned and operated by two past players in Daniel Freshney and Brett Mccall who are continuing to do extremely well with their businesses. A massive commitment to the NWFL and the past players like this gives us the confidence many more will jump on board to enjoy the ride

Outside of getting bang for your buck for the $100 with gifts, golf, beer and food. We have a very entertaining list of past players that have already signed up, and the entertainment you get from being in the presence of these players is worth the money in itself. Past players signed up are headlined at the moment by Grant Birchall and Alex Pearce, again, having these blokes show their commitment to the region of footy that gave them such good footy memories and pathways is testament to why we should keep it thriving. We are hopeful our current and past AFL players will be able to join in on our inaugural Golf day when home this summer.

With past players going in all different walks of life since their playing careers, this association will form more than just a social group. The networking, the support, the ability to get back involved to volunteer for your club, help out with the juniors and grassroots. We want as many male and female past players as possible to join.
