The three teams are in for the representative blockbuster against the Southern Football League at North Hobart Oval!
The JMC Senior Men see 10 debutants in the maroon and gold as coach Kurt Byard looks to go back-to-back following on from his win over the NTFA in 2023.
Josh Murray, Logan Elphinstone, Taylor Nash (Burnie), Evan Lockwood, Blair Ryan (Devonport), Brayden Scott (Latrobe), Ethan Jackson (Penguin), Brayden DeVries (Ulverstone), Jameson Forman and Jonty Mcivor (Wynyard) all make their first appearance for the NWFL at senior level.
Devonport’s Quade Byard has been given his third captaincy and led the NWFL when they last played the SFL in a seven point nailbiter at Ulverstone. Burnie’s Bailey Boag will deputize as vice captain playing alongside a midfield that includes Devonport trio Byard, Keegan Lowe, and Oliver Kelly as well as young stars Mcivor, Jackson and Devries.
Penguin’s Jack Templeton (below) is set to lead the line again with his fourth senior mens representative game, last year he kicked three against the NTFA at Devonport Oval.
The Advocate Senior Women make three changes following the successful win over the NTFA last week as they look to re-claim the AFL Tasmania Women’s All-Star Series. Nikki Ellis, Jasmyn Thompson and Tayla Hoiberg-Cox are omitted in place of Lucah Conkie, Ellie Poke and veteran Danielle Dunstone who returns from a knee injury.
Last year this clash saw the Women go down by 10 points at North Hobart Oval and they will look to bounce back as they did last week against the NTFA. Star midfielders Emilie Saward and Olivia Smith will be looking to continue their form following strong outings last week.
The “Real Mates” NWFL Under 18s will kick things off at 10:30am at North Hobart Oval. All eight Colts teams have been represented in the 22 picked, with coach Nik Hizartzidis selecting Ulverstone wingman/half back Ethan Bonde as captain, with deputies Lucas Lardner (Circular Head) and last years Ian Wotherspoon medalist Bailey Woodcock (Devonport).
